Online auctions without the big marketplace cut

cdxauction.com is SpotPro’s public auction floor for timed lots and live shows. SpotPro members: $0 to list and $0 platform fee when it sells — always the member rule, not a teaser rate. Same stock as your case and ExtraCoins store.

List from SpotPro inventory or store listings — titles, photos, and qty stay tied to the same stock count you use at the counter. Listing alone does not hold quantity. A hold starts on the first bid (timed lot) or when the product sits in a live show queue, so ExtraCoins cannot double-sell the last unit while someone is bidding.

When the hammer falls, the buyer pays you on the methods from Company Profile / Payments (card, Zelle, wire, pickup, and so on). Confirm payment in the seller console or Ecommerce → Orders (multi-channel money & status). Pack paid ship lots on Ecommerce → Ship Desk with the same queue as ExtraCoins and wholesale — rates, labels, packing slips — not a separate auction-only ship app. Buyers also land on Ecommerce → Customers. Revenue can sit with your other SpotPro sales — we are not a middleman escrow for the coins.

Durations are typically 3 / 7 / 14 / 30 days with anti-snipe extensions. You can set start bid, reserve, buy-now, and optional make-offer. On bullion, buy-now can track live metal with an optional dollar markup and a safety floor so a spot crash does not force a bad fill.

Timed auctions

3–30 days, last-second extensions, reserves, buy-it-now, and private offers. Bullion can track live metal.

Live shows

Sell on camera from a queue of your stock. What does not sell can go straight to the open auction floor.

They pay you

Winners pay your shop. Confirm Zelle/wire on Orders or the seller console — keep the relationship. Your customers stay yours; SpotPro is not a multi-dealer glass of other shops’ stock.

Ship Desk

Paid ship invoices pack on the same multi-channel Ship Desk as the storefront and wholesale.

One stock list

Same inventory as the case, ExtraCoins, and wholesale — no retyping photos and titles.

How you put something up for bid

From the shop software or on the auction site — same stock either way.

List from SpotPro inventory

Open Current Inventory (or Online Listings). Use the auction action when quantity is available. Set start bid, duration, reserve, buy-now, and whether private offers are allowed. Video from inventory media can ride along when you have it.

Manage open lots, offers, payment confirm, claims, and feedback under CDX Auction in the Ecommerce menu — the seller console without leaving SpotPro. Pack labels for paid ship wins on Ship Desk (shared with store and wholesale).

  • Qty ≥ 1 required to list
  • Hold starts on first bid or live show queue — not on bare list
  • Cancel or relist tools when the lot has not taken bids

On the auction site

Buyers browse cdxauction.com, watch lots, bid, or buy now. Sellers can also use sell.php for listing work, edit photos, cancel no-bid lots, and relist from account listings.

Your public seller store uses Company Profile fields (name, logo, city/state, description) so collectors see a real shop, not a blank handle. Directory and store pages live on the auction domain.

Seller trust — Verified dealer badges

Under SpotPro Ecommerce → Seller trust, verify your US mobile by SMS and upload a government ID once. That is dealer identity for every channel — not a buried auction-only setting.

When complete, shoppers see a green Verified dealer badge and trust passport on auction lots, your public store, pay screens, and the ExtraCoins footer under Store information. How-to docs

  • Phone + QR ID capture preferred
  • Badges never expose full phone or ID images
  • Auction Settings stay for notifications & pickup miles only

What you can set on a lot

Start bid, length (3–30 days), reserve, buy-now, make offer. Bullion can use live spot buy-now with an optional markup and a floor so you do not give it away if metal drops. Grade-aware fair value helpers use guide context when present.

  • Anti-snipe extensions on late bids
  • Watchlist and favorite-seller new-listing emails for buyers
  • Feedback after paid, shipped sales

After the hammer

Buyer gets an invoice and pays you with your shop payment methods. Confirm Zelle/wire on Orders or the seller console, pack remote ship lots on Ship Desk (rates, labels, packing slips), leave feedback. Unsold timed lots can relist. Ghost listings with no bids can clean up if the last unit sold elsewhere first.

Quick answers

What dealers ask before they list the first lot.

What do SpotPro members pay to sell on auction?
Nothing to list. Nothing to the platform when it sells. That is the member rule — not a short-term promo. Non-members see public pricing on cdxauction.com/pricing.
Who gets the money?
You do. The winner pays your shop the same kinds of ways they pay ExtraCoins — card, Zelle, wire, pickup, and the methods on your Company Profile. SpotPro is not holding the buyer’s money as marketplace escrow.
What is a live show?
You run a show with a camera and a queue of your stock, sell live, then move leftovers to timed auctions without retyping titles and photos.
When does inventory get held?
Listing alone does not lock quantity. Hold starts on the first bid (timed lot) or when a product is in a live show queue. ExtraCoins can block fixed-price buy while that hold is active.
Can I take private offers?
Yes when you allow make-offer on the lot. Offers are private negotiation, not a public bid. Accept, counter, or decline from the seller console.
Is this the same as Coin Dealer X wholesale?
No. Wholesale is fixed prices between vetted dealers on coindealerx.com. Auction is public bidding and live shows on cdxauction.com. Both can use the same SpotPro stock list.
What is the Verified dealer badge?
After you complete Seller trust in SpotPro (Ecommerce → Seller trust: SMS phone + government ID), shoppers see a green Verified dealer badge and trust passport on your auction lots, public store, pay screens, and ExtraCoins footer. One verification, all channels — not buried in auction-only settings.

What coin shops say

Real dealers. Real floors. Same software we run at The Coin Shop in Brighton.

I do a lot of shows and still keep the shop open, so I needed something that works in both places. Tracking buys by location, printing clean receipts, and keeping stock straight has been a relief. The online store and the wholesale side both pull from the same inventory, which cuts down on the usual double-entry mess. Feels like it was made by someone who's actually done this job.

Shows · wholesale

After six months I can say it's made us more organized and a bit more profitable. Counter is faster, the website actually moves product, and texting customers about new arrivals works better than email ever did. The price displays help a lot with trust. We're not going back to the old way.

Counter · store

Online was always a pain for us until this. Having our own little store with live prices that actually update has made a difference. No weird fees eating into the margins. Counter work is cleaner too, and the text alerts when we get new stock are simple but effective. Customers respond to them.

Online store

Labels and inventory used to eat up way too much of the day. Now it's quick, the pricing stays current, and we can reprice stuff without starting from scratch every time the market moves. People comment on how professional the screens look. It's just less friction day to day.

Since we started using SpotPro, we've noticed a significant change in how we do things. Real-time pricing and the POS Display have really helped. I'd definitely suggest giving it a try if you're in the business.

Live pricing

I've tried a few different setups over the years and most of them feel like they were built for regular retail and then someone added "coins" as an afterthought. This one doesn't. Buying is straightforward, the boards are accurate, and the online side doesn't cost us extra every time something sells. Support has been decent when we needed it.

Built for dealers

SpotPro's e-commerce service has increased our online presence. No selling fees. Absolutely worth it.

ExtraCoins · $0 cut

We've been with SpotPro for 5 years, and it's been a Godsend for our shop. The standout? Definitely the Point of Sale Display. Also the text messaging — a quick notification after new stock and customers come calling.

TV boards · SMS

The Scrap Gold table has made purchasing scrap gold super easy. New customers never question our prices.

Scrap gold

Wasn't looking for another system, but a buddy talked me into trying it. Glad he did. Inventory, labels, counter, and the website all stay in sync for once. Customers trust the prices more because they update themselves, and the scrap gold tool is simple enough that even my part-timers don't mess it up. It's been a solid upgrade.

Inventory · scrap

Busy shop plus shows was always a juggling act. This system handles both without forcing us to keep separate lists or files. Stock stays consistent, labels are easy, and the online and wholesale pieces don't fight with the counter. It just feels practical. Happy we switched.

Shop + shows

We used to bounce between a couple different programs and still end up with mistakes. Now everything's in one place and it just works. The price boards look professional, customers notice, and the directory listings have brought in a few new faces. Staff picked it up pretty quick. For what we pay, it's more than paid for itself.

One system

We've been really impressed with SpotPro's features, like the gold coin database. This thing saves a ton of time. Highly recommend!

Reference tools

The text messaging service keeps our customers in the loop for new inventory. It's a great tool for letting customers know what's going on.

Messaging

The TV screen alone was worth it. People walk in, see the current numbers, and relax instead of pulling out their phones to check. Texting customers when new stuff comes in brings them back faster than I expected. Online sales are finally consistent without the usual marketplace headaches. Setup wasn't a nightmare either.

TV boards · SMS

I've been in this business long enough to be tired of software that doesn't get how we actually work. SpotPro finally does. Buying at the counter and at shows is way faster now, the prices on the big screen stay current so customers stop arguing, and the online store actually sells without nickel-and-diming us on fees. It's just made the whole shop run smoother.
