Photo it. Your shop prices. Ready to stock.

Raw coins, slabs, notes, sets, and rounds. Photograph front and back of a raw piece — that is the daily path. If it is in a holder, add a label shot. SpotPro names it, matches Greysheet, and shows your buy and sell — not a generic collector-app number. The photos stay so you can add the piece to inventory or send it to NumisNexus without shooting it twice.

This is not CoinSnap and not a generic “what coin is this?” toy. CoinSnap is a collector ID app: it guesses a name and a retail-ish number for a hobbyist. SpotPro is the shop. The same vision that reads the coin is wired into Coin lookup, New Inventory Item, your Greysheet keys, your purchase presets, master premiums, junk buckets, and the stock ticket you already use.

Raw is first-class. Front and back of a circulated Morgan, a 2x2, junk silver, or a gold piece in the hand — the camera reads the metal and gives a conservative wear grade. A slab is the same tool plus a label photo for cert, printed grade, and designations. Two jobs, same camera: Look up answers “what will we pay / what do we ask?” Add to inventory fills the New Inventory Item form — you still review and Save. Photos from a lookup stay about a week so stocking is not a second photo session.

Identify works even before Greysheet keys. Live Bluebook / Grey bid / CPG need the 50 complimentary trial lookups or your own Dealer+ / Pro keys. SpotPro never bills Greysheet usage. The AI identify step is included in the SpotPro subscription — not a CoinSnap-style extra app, not a per-scan SpotPro fee.

How it works at the counter

Same vision. Two jobs. Your numbers.

Why this is not CoinSnap (or a generic ID app)

Collector apps stop at “this looks like an 1881-S Morgan” plus a public retail-ish figure. That number is not your shop. It does not know what you pay for 90% junk, what you add on common silver dollars, what you pay for wheat cents in bulk, or how you mark MS65 vs MS66.

SpotPro Use AI is inside the dealer system. It matches the Greysheet-linked catalog you already search by hand. It layers your buy discounts and sell markups. It can send the piece to NumisNexus or keep the photos on New Inventory Item. The coin stays in your shop — not in someone else’s hobby app.

  • Your buy / your sell — not a generic Red Book or app estimate
  • Greysheet wholesale when your keys (or trial lookups) are on
  • Photos become inventory media, not a throwaway snap
  • Staff stay in SpotPro — no second login, no extra consumer app

Look up — scan, price, offer

On a computer, open Apps → Coin lookup and tap Use AI. Scan the QR with the phone (or open the link on that phone). Stay on the desktop page — title and prices land in the same card as Get prices.

On the phone photograph front and back of a raw coin — that is enough. A 2x2 flip is not a slab. If it is in a PCGS/NGC holder, add a label shot. Or skip photos and type a name (1921 Peace, 1829 medium letters, 2018 Libertad) to pick the catalog row. Then write your offer. Send to NumisNexus, or keep the photos for inventory later.

On the phone

Open the members phone home (/members/app). Look up is values and offer. Add to inventory is the stocking camera. Leave Keep me signed in on so the counter phone stays ready.

Your premiums and pricing

The money on the card is shop math. Our buy and Our sell come from the same presets and markups you already set for NumisNexus and inventory — not a one-size collector estimate.

Common circulated 90% can prefer your junk silver melt pay when that is higher (or when the piece is a junk default). Wheat cents can use your bulk bucket. Common silver dollars can add your extra sell dollars on top of junk. Bullion follows spot-plus / master premiums. Collectibles follow Greysheet plus your buy percent and sell markup. Grade steps one family at a time so MS65 and MS66 are not the same ticket.

  • Our buy / Our sell from your POS settings
  • Junk melt pay vs Greysheet collectible — you see both when it matters
  • Bullion floors and master premiums, not a guessed “melt-ish” number
  • You type the offer — AI suggests, you decide

Greysheet integration

Use AI does not replace typed Coin Price Lookup — it feeds it. After identify, SpotPro matches a GSID when it can and pulls Bluebook, Grey Sheet bid, and CPG retail the same way Get prices does, with your margins on top.

Identify still runs if you have not pasted Greysheet keys yet. Live guide numbers need remaining complimentary trial lookups (exactly 50 on platform keys) or your own Dealer+ / Pro credentials in POS Config. SpotPro never bills those lookups. Greysheet bills your keys (typically about $0.002 each) after the trial.

Shop-smart identify

The model is instructed like a counter person, not a generic image labeler. Raw coins are the main case: it reads the date and legends on the metal, ignores wishful Sharpie on a 2x2, and gives a conservative wear grade (G through AU — you can step MS/PR after). A cardboard flip is not a slab.

If it is in a holder, photograph the label too. The printed year, grade, cert, and designations (FB, DCAM, Enhanced Finish) win over a guess from the coin face. Boxed proof and mint sets are sets, not a G4 coin. Metal comes from what the piece is (Morgan = silver, gold dollar = gold) — never from photo color.

Private rounds and bars that copy Walking Liberty or Morgan stay generic bullion. American Gold Eagles use the face-value size (G$50 is 1 oz, G$25 is 1/2 oz). Incuse Indian gold is not a Saint-Gaudens $20. Better dates and keys get a careful-review flag. If the piece should be weighed, the phone can say so before you pay.

Add to inventory from the same photos

On New Inventory Item, tap Use AI, scan the QR, photograph the piece. Title, grade, cert, type, and prices land on the form. You still Save. AI does not auto-list the coin on ExtraCoins or auction.

This is one-at-a-time stocking from photos. Inventory Quick Add remains the bulk catalog tool for mint sets, proofs, and ASE product lines. Use AI is the raw coin in a customer’s hand, the 2x2, the walk-in slab, the estate piece.

Common questions

Short answers dealers ask before they try this on the floor.

Does it work on raw coins, or only slabs?
Raw coins are the daily path. Photograph front and back. SpotPro reads the metal and gives a conservative wear grade. A 2x2 or vinyl flip is not a slab. If the piece is in a PCGS/NGC holder, add a label shot for cert and printed grade. Same tool either way.
Is this CoinSnap?
No. CoinSnap is a collector ID app. SpotPro Use AI is inside your shop software: your premiums, Greysheet match, NumisNexus, and inventory photos. The coin stays in SpotPro.
Does SpotPro charge per scan?
No. Identify is included with the SpotPro subscription. Live Greysheet guide numbers still use the 50 complimentary trial lookups, then your greysheet.com keys. SpotPro never bills Greysheet usage.
Do I need Greysheet keys?
Not to identify the piece. Yes for live Bluebook / Grey bid / CPG after the complimentary trial lookups. Bullion and junk pay can still come from your shop presets and melt tables.
Will it auto-save inventory?
No. Photos and fields fill New Inventory Item. You review and Save. Lookup can keep photos about 7 days for later stocking.
Is this the same as AI Call Attendant?
No. Call Attendant is the optional phone/chat add-on. Use AI coin lookup and inventory add are counter tools in the core SpotPro plan.

What coin shops say

Real dealers. Real floors. Same software we run at The Coin Shop in Brighton.

Wasn't looking for another system, but a buddy talked me into trying it. Glad he did. Inventory, labels, counter, and the website all stay in sync for once. Customers trust the prices more because they update themselves, and the scrap gold tool is simple enough that even my part-timers don't mess it up. It's been a solid upgrade.

Inventory · scrap

I've tried a few different setups over the years and most of them feel like they were built for regular retail and then someone added "coins" as an afterthought. This one doesn't. Buying is straightforward, the boards are accurate, and the online side doesn't cost us extra every time something sells. Support has been decent when we needed it.

Built for dealers

The TV screen alone was worth it. People walk in, see the current numbers, and relax instead of pulling out their phones to check. Texting customers when new stuff comes in brings them back faster than I expected. Online sales are finally consistent without the usual marketplace headaches. Setup wasn't a nightmare either.

TV boards · SMS

We've been with SpotPro for 5 years, and it's been a Godsend for our shop. The standout? Definitely the Point of Sale Display. Also the text messaging — a quick notification after new stock and customers come calling.

TV boards · SMS

The text messaging service keeps our customers in the loop for new inventory. It's a great tool for letting customers know what's going on.

Messaging

We used to bounce between a couple different programs and still end up with mistakes. Now everything's in one place and it just works. The price boards look professional, customers notice, and the directory listings have brought in a few new faces. Staff picked it up pretty quick. For what we pay, it's more than paid for itself.

One system

SpotPro's e-commerce service has increased our online presence. No selling fees. Absolutely worth it.

ExtraCoins · $0 cut

After six months I can say it's made us more organized and a bit more profitable. Counter is faster, the website actually moves product, and texting customers about new arrivals works better than email ever did. The price displays help a lot with trust. We're not going back to the old way.

Counter · store

I do a lot of shows and still keep the shop open, so I needed something that works in both places. Tracking buys by location, printing clean receipts, and keeping stock straight has been a relief. The online store and the wholesale side both pull from the same inventory, which cuts down on the usual double-entry mess. Feels like it was made by someone who's actually done this job.

Shows · wholesale

We've been really impressed with SpotPro's features, like the gold coin database. This thing saves a ton of time. Highly recommend!

Reference tools

Online was always a pain for us until this. Having our own little store with live prices that actually update has made a difference. No weird fees eating into the margins. Counter work is cleaner too, and the text alerts when we get new stock are simple but effective. Customers respond to them.

Online store

Labels and inventory used to eat up way too much of the day. Now it's quick, the pricing stays current, and we can reprice stuff without starting from scratch every time the market moves. People comment on how professional the screens look. It's just less friction day to day.

Labels · inventory

Busy shop plus shows was always a juggling act. This system handles both without forcing us to keep separate lists or files. Stock stays consistent, labels are easy, and the online and wholesale pieces don't fight with the counter. It just feels practical. Happy we switched.

Shop + shows

The Scrap Gold table has made purchasing scrap gold super easy. New customers never question our prices.

Scrap gold

I've been in this business long enough to be tired of software that doesn't get how we actually work. SpotPro finally does. Buying at the counter and at shows is way faster now, the prices on the big screen stay current so customers stop arguing, and the online store actually sells without nickel-and-diming us on fees. It's just made the whole shop run smoother.

Counter · TV · store

Since we started using SpotPro, we've noticed a significant change in how we do things. Real-time pricing and the POS Display have really helped. I'd definitely suggest giving it a try if you're in the business.
